In my courses my goal is to teach my topic area, develop in my students a certain base of knowledge, coupled with excellent writing and sound research skills. These are the keys that will allow them to search for truth. My department heads, Professors Bob Jaffin and Terry Douglas have given me the latitude and direction to get my students through. I have considerable academic freedom to develop and teach my courses. In fact, we are probably more rigorously assessed than our counter parts in traditional universities and on a yearly basis to ensure that we meet the criteria to ensure our institution’s accreditation.
